Appreciation Protocols
Appreciation Protocols are practices and systems within Fun City designed to formalize and integrate gratitude, recognition, and acknowledgment into cultural and economic systems.
In Izumo Village, appreciation is both emotional and economic. Residents earn LoveCoin by contributing value: art, service, invention, healing. Recognition is structural, not an afterthought.
The shape of appreciation
- Daily — small rituals of acknowledgment built into how the village operates
- Economic — LoveCoin as a literal flow of appreciation
- Cultural — celebrations and ceremonies that surface contributions otherwise invisible
- Systemic — designs that make it impossible for good work to go unnoticed
Why protocolize gratitude
Most cultures treat gratitude as an emotion. We treat it as infrastructure. When a system makes appreciation easy and visible, contribution multiplies. When it makes appreciation hard, even excellent contributors burn out.
Protocols, not platitudes.
